Dear Friends-
Davis is a great place to live! Our extensive greenbelt system, thriving downtown core, and extensive cultural activities make Davis a community we all can be proud of. I love being an active member of the community through participation on the Tree Commission, Business and Economic Commission, and as the Chair of the Yolo County Young Democrats. To City Hall, I will bring a passion for the community and a professional background in land use planning and municipal financing.
As your City Council representative, I will work to ensure an environmentally and fiscally sustainable future through:
- Environmental leadership. We need to be taking actions now, to implement innovative energy efficient solutions that curb global warming, save taxpayer dollars, and create a healthier living environment. See Sydney's Go Green Three Point Plan and Three Point Plan for Bringing the Bike Back. In the spirit of environmental leadership, I am running a green campaign - click here to learn more
- Renewed focus on our City and Neighborhood centers. These centers not only offer us a sense of community and diversity, but also can help us lead greener lifestyles. As energy prices rise due to peak oil, proximity to basic services such as grocery and retail stores will become more and more valuable as a way to reduce our vehicle trips, carbon footprints, and consumption of non-renewable energy sources. We need to ensure that our neighborhood centers and downtown core remain viable and vital.
- Strategic Decision Making. As budget woes begin impacting both our State and City operations, it is more important now than ever, to strategically plan for the future. With a background in economics and municipal financing, I would like to help develop innovative and collaborative fiscal solutions that ensure city public services continue to meet our needs.
