Here are my choices on June 3
Published: April 15, 2008, Davis Enterprise Letter to the Editor

I have lived in Davis for more than 35 years. I've raised children here. I love this town and wish the best for this community. I guess I'll stick around for another 35 years.
I know the folks running for the various offices that are up for election on June 3. I would like to recommend the following people as public servants who will work to keep Davis' small-town character and will represent the best this community has to offer:

For Davis City Council: Don Saylor (we need his steady hand and his reasonable mind), Steve Souza (no one works harder or gets more done for the people of Davis) and Sydney Vergis (a bright, talented young lady who will bring new blood and energy to the council).

For Yolo County Board of Supervisors: Jim Provenza (with his experience in public office, he will hold his own with supervisors from Woodland, the Capay Valley and West Sacramento and he'll hold the line against growth pressures).

For the California Assembly: Mariko Yamada (she will be the representative Davis needs in Sacramento, focused on education, the needs of senior citizens, and health care).
For the California Senate: Lois Wolk (one of the few moderates in Sacramento, Lois will forge coalitions to get things done for her constituents).
